Wedding Photography – Claire and John

We had an amazing day capturing Claire and John’s wedding who were married at the same place I got married, this was special, to be chosen to photograph a vintage wedding and to photograph a wedding at the same place Sam and I got married way back 9 years ago. How times have changed since then, so many services that wasn’t available but now is.

I awoke on the morning of 23rd May 2014 to rain, and I mean rain, big heavy drops of rain the type that would soak you in one drop. Claire and I had been in touch days before and watched the weather forecast carefully, despite the early morning showers, the sun came out mid morning and the smiles became bigger.

The second photographer, trainee and I arrived a good few hours early prior to the wedding so we could accustom ourselves with the area and take some meter readings and test shots. There where so many different opportunities at the Gardeners Country Inn in Skirlaugh, just on the outskirts of Hull, it was unbelievable, we had the old Hull to Hornsea Railway lines, tree wooded areas, farmland and a beautiful rustic venue to compliment it all. We also had a good friend of ours arrive and allow us to use smoke pellets in the engine bay of his Triumph Herald to create a wonderful broken down old vintage car shot.

Claire and John tied the knot and we went onto capture some amazing pictures, the entire wedding party was game for a laugh and trust me they all where amazing. We where welcomed into the wedding like we were guests rather than just photographers working, made to feel welcome by all.

I can vouch for my team that we seriously enjoyed working with you all, Claire and John you are a well matched couple and love is evident throughout and shows in every frame we captured. Thank you for choosing David Howard Photography we hope we can work with you soon, may be when a little one makes an appearance.
